G5 Electronics, electronic communications, instrumentation and radio electronics
EPP – Internet of Things and Electronic Communications
The goal of the educational program – is to train specialists capable of developing, implementing, and maintaining modern Internet of Things (IoT) systems, as well as electronic communication systems. The program is aimed at developing skills in designing, integrating, and analyzing IoT solutions, developing software for embedded systems, configuring network protocols, and ensuring cybersecurity in IoT networks.
Educational program G5 «Internet of Things and Electronic Communications» – is a modern approach to training specialists in current and promising infocommunication technologies and ensuring their reliable operation and cyber protection. It is a combination of knowledge and skills in programming and the operation of devices and systems in the field of Information Technology and telecommunications.
During the study process, students master a wide range of skills and abilities, including:
Development of IoT solutions: creation of intelligent devices, sensor networks, and data collection systems.
Programming: using C/C++, Python, and JavaScript languages for developing embedded and network software.
Circuit design: working with microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, ESP32) and IoT platforms (Raspberry Pi).
Working with communication protocols: configuration and optimization of MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, Zigbee, Bluetooth, LoRaWAN, etc.
Cybersecurity: protecting IoT data and devices from unauthorized access and cyberattacks.
Data analysis: using tools for processing large volumes of data obtained from IoT devices.
Learning programming languages: C, C++, C#, Python, WEB-programming, and databases.
Training of students is conducted in classrooms and laboratories of the AVP department in the main buildings of the university. All educational premises are equipped with the necessary laboratory and prototyping equipment, multimedia tools (PCs, projectors, interactive whiteboards), and a Wi-Fi network.
Laboratories are equipped with equipment provided by employer companies and modern computer technology. The Renewable Energy Laboratory is equipped with test benches for studying the operation of solar panels, provided by "KS SOLAR" LLC. The Industrial Process Automation Laboratory is equipped with test benches for studying control processes of nuclear power plants, provided by PJSC RPC "Radiy". The Microprocessor Tools Laboratory is equipped with test benches based on PLC controllers and controllers based on STM32 and Arduino.
Exchange programs are available for students, teachers, and scientists from European countries – Erasmus+ and student exchange between universities of the European continent – TEMPUS/TACIS. Within the framework of cooperation agreements, collaboration is carried out with universities in Georgia, Poland, and others.
Practical training takes place at partner enterprises in the region, and internships occur both in domestic and foreign educational institutions and leading enterprises of Kropyvnytskyi and the Kirovohrad region, including: PJSC RPC "Radiy", "Shtorm" LLC, Ukrtelecom, "KS SOLAR" LLC, "KERNEL" LLC.
The highlight of the educational program is the integration of modern knowledge and technologies, which allow students to receive unique training in three important areas: programming (software), cybersecurity, and being developers of circuits, devices, and software for microcontrollers, chips, and other electronic devices (hardware).
Broad career opportunities: graduates can work as programmers in the IT sector, as well as specialists in embedded systems who write software for microcontrollers, chips, and other electronic devices, or as project managers in the engineering field who coordinate projects for the development and implementation of new technologies and devices, which significantly expands employment prospects. The training is closely linked to the needs of the region's industry, which gives graduates an advantage in the labor market.
Bachelor's training under the EPP «Internet of Things and Electronic Communications» is carried out by the graduating Department of Automation of Production Processes.
