G3 Electrical Engineering

The objects of study and activity of the educational-professional program (EPP) "Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics" are:

– enterprises of the electric power complex, electrical and electromechanical departments of organizations;
– production, transmission, distribution, and conversion of electrical energy at power plants, in electrical networks and systems;
– electrical equipment, electromechanical and switching equipment, electromechanical and electrical complexes and systems;
– automation systems for the operation of electric power equipment, control and protection of electric power facilities.

The goal of the educational program is to train specialists capable of independently setting and solving tasks related to the development of new, as well as the improvement, modernization, and operation of existing electric power, electrical, and electromechanical complexes and systems in various sectors of energy, the industrial sector, agro-industrial production, etc.

The main focus of the educational program lies in combining theoretical training with the practical study of electrical equipment and automation tools from leading global manufacturers, operating modes of electrical systems, networks, substations, their design, and commissioning using modern relay protection and automation tools. A comprehensive approach to studying the interconnections and ensuring efficient and reliable operation modes in systems of production, distribution, and consumption of electricity, including the use of technological process control and automation tools.

The uniqueness of the educational program lies in the realization of deep and thorough mastery of approaches to solving complex tasks in electric power engineering, electrical engineering, and electromechanics, with an emphasis on modern systems of production, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy, relay protection and automation systems, while acquiring relevant skills and abilities.

Training of specialists takes place in the classrooms and laboratories of the Department of ETS and EM, which we recommend viewing on the YouTube channel of the Department of ETS and EM. A highlight of the department's educational base is the creation of a training ground using a KTPB-35/10 kV substation with a backup power source (diesel generator PG55R), which allows for the training of highly qualified specialists even under force majeure circumstances of power supply interruptions. Educational premises are equipped with necessary equipment and learning tools, multimedia devices (PCs, projectors) with WI-FI access, free access to the Internet, and the electronic catalog of CNTU (repository). The educational process is duplicated by an electronic educational portal on the Moodle platform, which provides the opportunity to study in remote and blended formats.

Practical training of students is conducted at leading enterprises of the energy industry in Kropyvnytskyi and the Central Ukrainian region, namely: PrJSC "Kirovohradoblenerho", LLC "Kirovohrad Energy Supply Company", PJSC "Cherkasyoblenerho", SE "KSU No. 411" of PJSC "Dniproelektromontazh", PJSC R&D "Radiy", KP KRM "Miskvitlo", KP KRM "Teploenerhetyk", enterprises of the "KERNEL" group, LLC "Prydniprovskyi Oil Extraction Plant", PJSC "Kirovohradoliya", and others.

Exchange programs are available for students, teachers, and scientists of European countries – Erasmus+ and student exchange between universities of the European continent – TEMPUS/TACIS. Based on bilateral agreements between CNTU and foreign educational institutions, international credit mobility is implemented.

Master's training under the EPP "Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics" is carried out by the graduating department "Electrical Systems and Energy Management".

Objects of study and activity of the educational-professional program (EPP) «Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics» are:

– enterprises of the electric power complex, electrotechnical and electromechanical services of organizations;
– production, transmission, distribution and transformation of electric energy at power plants, in electrical networks and systems;
– electrotechnical equipment, electromechanical and switching equipment, electromechanical and electrotechnical complexes and systems.
– automation systems for the operation of electric power equipment, control and protection of electric power facilities.

Goal of the educational program – training of specialists capable of independently formulating and solving tasks of developing new, as well as improving, modernizing and operating existing electric power, electrotechnical and electromechanical complexes and systems in various sectors of energy, industrial sector, agro-industrial production, etc.

Main focus  of the educational program lies in combining theoretical study with practical learning of electrical equipment and automation tools of leading world manufacturers, operating regimes of electrical systems, networks, substations, their design and commissioning using modern relay protection and automation devices. A holistic approach to studying interconnections and ensuring efficient and reliable operation in systems of production, distribution and consumption of electric energy, including the use of control and automation means for technological processes.

Uniqueness  of the educational program lies in the realization of deep and thorough mastery of approaches to solving complex tasks of power engineering, electrical engineering, and electromechanics with an emphasis on modern systems of production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, relay protection and automation systems with the acquisition of relevant skills and abilities.

Training of specialists takes place in the classrooms and laboratories of the Department of ETC and EM, which we recommend to familiarize yourself with on the YouTube channel of the Department of ETC and EM. The hallmark of the department's training base is the creation of a training ground using the 35/10 kV substation with a backup power source (diesel generator PG55R), which allows training highly qualified specialists even under force majeure circumstances of power outages. The training rooms are equipped with the necessary equipment and teaching aids, multimedia devices (PCs, projectors) with WI-FI access, free access to the Internet, CNTU repository (repository). The educational process is replicated by the electronic educational portal on the Moodle platform, which provides the opportunity to study in distance and blended formats.

Practical training of students is conducted at leading enterprises in the energy sector of the city of Kropyvnytskyi and the central Ukrainian region, namely: PJSC “Kirovohradoblenergo”, LLC “Kirovohrad Energy Supply Company”, PJSC “Cherkasyoblenergo”, State Enterprise “ CSU No. 411” PJSC “Dnipro Elektromontazh”, PJSC NVP “Radiy”, Municipal KMU “Misksvitlo”, Municipal KMU “Teploenergetyk”, enterprises of GC “KERNEL”, LLC “Prydniprovs’ky Oil Extraction Plant”, PJSC “Kirovohradolio” and others.

Exchange programs for students, teachers and researchers of European countries – Erasmus+ and student exchanges between universities of the European continent – TEMPUS/TACIS.
