Higher Education Quality Assurance Center

The Center for Quality Assurance of Education is part of the educational department of CUTU and is a component of the internal quality assurance system of education at the University, created for the formation and development of a culture of quality of education, monitoring of educational activities, ensuring compliance with academic integrity, and the formation and development of a mechanism for internal and external assessment of the quality of education both for individual educational programs and for the university as a whole.

Mission of the Center

implementation and development of the internal quality assurance system of education at the Central Ukrainian National Technical University with the aim of:
building an innovative educational environment of the university; - consolidating the university in ensuring the competitiveness of graduates in the labor market.

Activities of the Center

is based on the principles of scientificity, continuity and consistency, information accessibility, respect, cooperation, collegiality, democracy, and a systematic approach to the development and implementation of modern scientific achievements and innovative pedagogical technologies into the educational process regarding the problems of monitoring the quality of education.

In its activities, the Center interacts with the academic community at the following levels:

university-wide;
faculty;
departmental;
student;
other stakeholders.

The Center performs not controlling, but service functions, in particular, it moderates all necessary processes for ensuring the system of internal quality assurance of educational activities and higher education at CUTU, collects analytical information, and prepares recommendations for making necessary decisions at all levels of management.

Main functions of the Center

formation of its own strategy for quality educational activities;
monitoring and evaluation of the system of internal quality assurance of educational activities and the quality of education at CUTU to identify existing problems and formulate a strategy for improving this system; implementation of a self-analysis mechanism, coordination of the process of monitoring the quality of the implementation of educational programs in accordance with the requirements and expectations of stakeholders (goals, requirements, expectations);
cultivating a culture of quality of education at the university;
involvement of all interested parties in cooperation;
ensuring compliance with academic integrity by employees of higher education institutions and higher education students, including the creation and ensuring the functioning of an effective system for preventing and detecting academic plagiarism;
annual evaluation of higher education students, scientific and pedagogical staff of the HEI and regular publication of the results of such evaluations on the official website of the HEI, on information boards, and in any other way;
preparation of rector's orders, vice-rectors' instructions on scientific-pedagogical and scientific work on issues related to the activities of the Center;
coordination and unification of the efforts of all subjects of the educational process (higher education student, graduate, teacher, employer) and other structural units of CUTU for the implementation of a single algorithm for ensuring the quality of education in accordance with the licensing conditions for conducting educational activities, national and international standards of education, as the basis for the competitiveness of the HEI and its graduates in the market of educational services;
participation in the development and updating of the regulatory framework that regulates the internal quality assurance of education and the innovative development of CUTU;
conducting consultations, seminars, trainings, development of recommendations regarding monitoring and improving the quality of the educational process at CUTU.

Policy of the Center for Quality Assurance of Education

The Center's policy is aimed at implementing the mission and development strategy of CUTU for the training of competitive specialists who meet modern requirements of the labor market.

The Center's policy provides for:

organization and functioning of the higher education quality assurance system at CUTU;
involvement of all participants in the educational process and external stakeholders in ensuring the quality of education at CUTU;
prevention of any manifestations of intolerance or discrimination against participants in the educational process;
development of a culture of quality of education, within which all internal parties take responsibility for quality and are involved in ensuring the quality of education at all levels of the university's activities;
support for academic integrity and freedom and prevention of manifestations of academic plagiarism;
promotion of the implementation of the results of scientific activity and the practical component in the educational process;
promotion of the formation and development of an innovative educational environment at the university;
promotion of the integration of the HEI into the European Higher Education Area.

Implementation of the Center's policy is ensured by:

formation of an effective management structure and coordination of the quality of educational services of CUTU through the development of human capital, intellectual leadership, technological achievements based on the desire for excellence, openness, competitiveness, and ensuring the principle of academic integrity;
increasing the level of awareness of scientific and pedagogical staff regarding tools for improving the quality of higher education;
interaction between research work and teaching and learning;
study and implementation of tools for ensuring the quality of higher education and educational activities based on the analysis of the experience of domestic and foreign higher education institutions.

The Center for Quality Assurance of Education is part of CNTU's Educational Department and a component of the university's internal quality assurance system, created to form and develop a culture of quality in education, to monitor educational activity, to ensure compliance with academic integrity, to form and develop the mechanism of internal and external evaluation of the quality of education both for individual educational programs and for the university as a whole.

cultivation of a culture of education quality at the university;
involving all stakeholders to collaborate;
ensuring compliance with academic integrity by staff of higher education institutions and higher education applicants, including the creation and operation of an effective system to prevent and detect academic plagiarism;
annual evaluation of higher education applicants/students, academic staff of higher education institutions, and regular publication of the results of such evaluations on the official website of the HEI, on information boards and in any other way;
preparation of orders of the Rector, directives of the vice-rectors on scientific and pedagogical and scientific work issues related to the Center's activities;
coordination and unification of the efforts of all subjects of the educational process (higher education applicant, graduate, teacher, employer) and other structural divisions of CNTU to implement a single algorithm for ensuring the quality of education in accordance with licensing conditions for carrying out educational activities, national and international education standards, as the basis of the university's competitiveness and its graduates in the market of educational services;
participation in the development and updating of the regulatory framework that governs internal quality assurance of education and the innovative development of CNTU;
conducting consultations, seminars, trainings, developing recommendations on monitoring and improving the quality of the educational process at CNTU.

The Center's policy provides:

organization and operation of the system of quality assurance of higher education at CNTU;
involving all participants of the educational process and external stakeholders in ensuring the quality of education at CNTU;
prevention of any manifestations of intolerance or discrimination against participants in the educational process;
development of a culture of education quality, within which all internal parties take responsibility for quality and participate in ensuring the quality of education at all levels of the university's activities;
support for academic integrity and freedom and prevention of academic plagiarism;
promotion of the implementation of results of research and practical components into the educational process;
promotion of formation and development of an innovative educational environment at the university;
promotion of integration of HEIs into the European Higher Education Area.

Implementation of the Center for Quality Assurance of Education policy

formation of an effective governance structure and coordination of CNTU's educational services quality through the development of human capital, intellectual leadership, technological achievements on the basis of striving for excellence, openness, competitiveness and ensuring the principle of academic integrity;
