Primary Trade Union Organization of Students

The primary student trade union organization of CNTU – is a voluntary association of trade union members at the place of study, students pursuing higher education at the Central Ukrainian National Technical University.

The aim of establishing and operating the union is to represent and protect the educational, socio-economic, and everyday rights and interests of student members of the union.

Membership in the union is based on equality, without any restriction due to gender, age, national or racial affiliation, or religious beliefs.

Why does the trade union committee exist:

• The trade union committee at all levels represents and defends the rights and interests of higher education students – members of the union;
• The trade union committee helps in developing talents, assists talented students, and motivates them to join the student youth and student sports clubs;
• The trade union committee oversees the process of settlement and eviction from dormitories;
• Dormitory accommodation prices are set in agreement with the trade union committee;
• In agreement with the trade union committee, the process of accrual and payment of financial aid and academic scholarships is carried out;
• The trade union committee oversees the university's student dining facilities;
• The trade union committee protects the rights of students in preferential categories;
• In the trade union committee you will learn more about your rights and how to defend them;
• In the trade union committee you have the opportunity to receive legal, social and informational, or any other support;
• The trade union committee, in collaboration with the university administration, the student council, the student youth and student sports clubs, conducts cultural and mass events, sports and other activities, competitions and games, in which any union member may participate.

For effective performance of its functions, the trade union committee creates permanent and temporary commissions. The commission of the trade union committee is a functional unit that performs delegated functions in accordance with the main directions of the union organization's activity. The commission is headed by a chairperson who is appointed and removed from office by the decision of the trade union committee meeting.

Commissions of the trade union committee include:

• Commission on cultural and mass work;
• Commission on sports and mass work;
• Commission on protecting the rights of higher education students;
• Commission on organizational and informational work.
