Dormitories
Today the Central Ukrainian National Technical University is not only about learning and scientific activity, but also about student life. As they say: «he who has not lived in a dormitory has not been a student». The university has on its balance sheet two dormitories, located on the university campus. Students live in rooms for two to three people in accordance with sanitary norms (6 m2 per student). The dormitories are of two types: block-type with 8 rooms and sectional-type with 2 rooms.
In the dormitories, all conditions have been created so that the residents feel at home. The rooms are equipped with the necessary furniture: beds, nightstands, a table and chairs. Each dormitory has comfortable lobbies, cozy kitchens, sanitary-hygienic facilities, a laundry and a room for self-study.
On the territory of the student town there is a dining hall and sports grounds. A local computer network has been established on the student town with Internet access.
When settling into the dormitory, the university administration signs a contract with the student for the right to reside in the dormitory for the duration of his studies and issues him a special order, which is the sole basis for living in this dwelling. The order specifies the dormitory number and the room number.
The placement of places in the dormitory is carried out by the administration of the student town. Together with the dormitory student council and group tutors, they monitor order in the dormitories during the academic year. On each floor (block) an elder is elected who is responsible for order, adherence to the living regime, and the state of the dormitory's property, daily observance of cleanliness and quiet.
In each dormitory there is a student council, elected at the general meetings of the dormitory residents for a term of one year, and directs the student body toward active life. Student councils are created to involve a broad active contingent in educational, athletic, cultural and mass activities and to improve the living conditions of residents in the dormitories, as well as to protect the rights of the dormitory residents. The student council reports on its work at the general meetings of the dormitory residents.
