This short guide includes basic recommendations for providing psychological first aid. It contains a structured, concise overview of the procedures for providing psychological first aid to people after a crisis event.
The guide is not specialized material for professional psychologists and can be used by individuals regardless of their profession. At the same time, we recommend taking a psychological first aid training course as a comprehensive preparation for providing psychological first aid.

This handbook was developed for social sector support professionals working with internally displaced persons and the affected population as part of long-term training on community resilience development and overcoming post-traumatic stress disorder (October 2021 – July 2022).
The handbook will be useful for:

• educators
• volunteers of non-governmental organizations;
• youth workers
• lawyers

The approaches in the Handbook were tested during long-term training on community resilience development and overcoming post-traumatic stress disorder, organized by the Project in October 2021 – July 2022. Multidisciplinary teams of specialists from Berdyansk, Kramatorsk, Kryvyi Rih, Storozhynets, and Tairove participated in the long-term training with the aim of forming a unified systemic approach to working with traumatic events and psychological trauma.
The electronic version of the Handbook has convenient navigation of the content and methodologies, and is also adapted for using individual pages and sections as information booklets and posters.

The webinar from the "CODEs of Resilience" series is dedicated to examining the "inner spring" of our psychological resilience - life values.
What relates to values and, conversely, what does not, and how values influence resilience.
During the webinar, several exercises for exploring one's own values were proposed: the "Life Spheres" Wheel, the "Compass" value-setting algorithm, and the "Target" technique for focusing on one's own values.
The webinar also introduces the art-therapeutic exercise "Tree of Resilience". A fragment of the discussion of the webinar material with its participants is also offered for viewing.
